NWSLL SOFTBALL

GIRLS SOFTBALL

Fastpitch softball continues to gain in popularity and more opportunities continue to become available for girls to play this amazing team sport. Within Little League District 8, the Seattle city Little Leagues (NW, Ballard, N Central, NE, Queen Anne & Magnolia) work together to create inter-league games and a playoff tournament for the “regular” spring season as well as fun, summer season play. As a group, we are committed to making sure that every girl in Seattle who wants to play gets the opportunity.

An ideal number of players on one team is around 13 which allows the best instruction and maximum playing time. When a league ends up with an “odd” number of girls, NWSLL works with the other Seattle Little Leagues to create “co-league” teams. The league with the most players on a co-league team becomes the “host” team and provides coaches and uniforms. Your daughter is still part of NWSLL, but she and her NWSLL teammates get the opportunity to create a new circle of friends and she may wear another league’s uniform for a season. These friends often end up going to middle school together and playing high school softball together!
